I pride myself on thinking creatively, generating original ideas and working to deadlines. I am always open to book commissions, however late-in-the-day. At the current time, I'm working on a popular science book about the minds of dogs for Bloomsbury Sigma, and a handful of children's books about animals from publishers including Nosy Crow.
In 2019-2020 I have a number of book projects coming to fruition. These include:
Creatures of the Order (20 Watt)
Bones (20 Watt)
Prehistoric Creatures of the Order (20 Watt)
Frogs and Toads (Bloomsbury Wildlife)
The Wildlife Pond Book (Bloomsbury Wildlife)
The Animal Encyclopedia (Wide-eyed Editions)
The Insect Encyclopedia (Wide-eyed Editions)
As well as writing regularly for BBC Wildlife Magazine and The Guardian (click here for latest pieces) I have written for a host of other magazines and newspapers including Discover Magazine, The Independent, BBC Focus, BBC Countryfile Magazine and VICE. I am also author of the popular science books Sex on Earth and Death on Earth, both published by Bloomsbury Sigma and translated into languages including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. In 2016, Death on Earth was nominated for the prestigious Royal Society of Biology book prize.
